what is it?
let's play a little game, which i know isn't original to me: what is it? i saw this today, and thought i'd snap of photo because i thought it looked interesting. but, can you figure out what it is?
well, i thought that this might be a little more difficult. not that i thought it was super hard, but i didn't think it was so easily recognizable as asphalt crack sealer.

first guess - road tar (asphalt sealer as jd and scott/malisa said)
second guess - engine oil
I agree with the tar/asphalt responses. That stuff always looks wet even when it is not because it is so shiny.
My other guess is it is a shadow of your hand taking a picture with your phone:)
I like these, you should do more.
