good news! scheduled a show for...january 26-27. i will be displaying work @ a fresno philharmonic concert. they have artists showing. not sure all the details yet, they're sending me out a packet. but it'll be great exposure to a whole new crowd in fresno.
adam, i'm needing to talk to you about some sort of stands.

Like easels?
yeah. something very simple and inexpensive. but i'll need a few to display work on.
Ok, well, we'll talk about which pieces you want to show and the sizes and such and then when I do the frames for those three I'll get the lumber for those too. If you want, we can go to the lumber yard together and you can help pick out wood with grain or coloration you like.
i may just go cheap + sturdy and paint them. thoughts on that?
sara says painted is a bad idea!
I have no issue painting them. It's really up to you and how you feel they should compliment the paintings or fade into the background or whatever you like.
well, i have painted several of your frames before with a matte finish and it looked fine. but i'm not sure. i'm also thinking about how i can have them constructed so that they can be adjusted for different size paintings for future use.
i'm also kicking around using schedule 40 pvc.
Hmm, I have some ideas, but they'd probably best be shown with sketches and discussion rather than in this forum. We'll talk tonight.
