this didn't surprise me.
really, the germans are under intense pressure right now. and, the us was going to be playing without several key players.
but, i think this will be a eye opener for any on the team that assumed they'd just walk into victories.

i saw the game and was very pleased going into half time, and chatted with potter online about whatthe teams would have to do. i said that the us needs to keep playing smart, solid, and mistake free defense. Potter said that germany needs to get on the board, and quick. we were both right. weak defending gave up a free kick to one of the most deadly teams when it comes to set peices, and once they got that early goal, they never stopped rolling the us. i think thast this looks bad, but like you said and eye opener and great experience for our bench, look for that silver lining, it's in there somewhere.
