they'll cut-cha

it appears that some people just don't understand what steve irwin was about. and really, revenge killings? listen australia, put down the big can of fosters, sober up for more than three hours, and think about what you're doing.

here's a reason
to make sure you know what you're doing. i wonder if this guy is still a hero to his cause? even if he really botched the job.

i'm not convinced yet. i'm still only wearing my helmet part of the time. i wonder if this study holds up for motorcycles as well?

here's how addresses are supposed to work: each building is assigned one number, street, city, zip code, etc. no other building should have that same combination. what's that, eh? your city has duplicate streets, eh? canadians.

a fight between new media and old media. wiki's gonna get cha.

Yeah, seriously, Australians need to calm themselves.

I'd call the car dude a terrorist before I'd call that other guy who ran people down a terrorist. But I'll just call him a misguided man without the right knowledge.

You're still likely to have a collision at some point and I'd rather have the helmet than not. Either that, or I'm gonna start riding with a wig.

Canadians. Universal healthcare, but where the hell do you go to get it. I tried to find the hospital on Idiot Ave. but apparently, it was on a different Idiot Ave.

I think that both mediums should be maintained.

Canada is dumb. If they only asked nicely enough, we would annex them. And change Quebec to K-Beck, which sounds cool.

FL did away with mandatory helmet laws a few years ago, and deaths for motorcycle riders have increased at a fairly rapid pace every single year since. Last year during Bike Week in Daytona, over 20 riders were killed - most were not wearing helmets. In only one death was the rider at fault, the rest being caused by cars (or I guess, more accurately, their drivers).

If I did ride, I'd wear a helmet not out of worry about my own ability, but because of variables I can't control. And if my head is bouncing across pavement, I'm thinking I'd wish I was wearing one.

definately true of a motorbike. but, there are a lot of legal helmets that do very little. i know they're not cool, but really, anything short of a full face helmet, on a motorcycle, is less than adequate.

now, on a bicycle, helmets are only mandatory for under 18's. but, i think they're still wise. because, even a low speed fall/crash/whatever can cause you to smack your head and have some problems.

Funny thing about Fosters... I had a roomate in college from Austrailia, and she had never heard of Fosters. I think that it is made by either the Coors company or Busch. Anyhow, just random comments from me!

Maybe the bicyclist wearing helmets are more likely to be hit because the car are pulled to them by the gravitational pull created by"their giant heeds"

But seriously I imagine that most people do not have their helmets on properly and thats why they can be ineffective or detract from vision

sorry heather, no. the study is about vehicles giving less space around cyclists with helmets and hitting them, not cyclists getting injured by their helmets.

now, if you were referring to my comment about motorcycle helmets, that's different too. even a properly fitted brain bucket won't help much in an accident.

Heather quoted the only Mike Meyers movie I ever really liked.

Sam- Yeah that's really my favorite too. It's a little known gem.
