the red balloon

wow. as a kid, i saw a movie over and over in school. i don't know why they showed it, but it seems like i saw the red balloon about once a year. now, if you have the time, you too can see it, on youtube. the link will take you to part one. from there you have access to 3 other segments. it's about 34 minutes total.

feel free to discuss what you think this movie is about.

I'll have to watch that. I never did understand the point of that movie.

I'm gonna watch it too. I always felt that the Red Balloon has become this archetypal symbol for all us kids who went to school in the 70's with the real to real. What it means I have no idea but I'm always intrigued.

I was reading a review of Le Ballon Rouge and one person wrote ". In a way, the balloon is a Christ like figure that is rejected by mankind -- finally murdered -- and then resurrects." ...Interesting.

However, I would argue that this person just craped out this answer, much like my little brother would when the daily family bible triva question was asked. Remember, when in doubt, the answer is always, God or Jesus.
