now, this is a claim. and, it's a claim coming from 3 snipers accused of planting evidence on people they gunned down. so, are they just claiming this to cover their butts? of course, the gov't won't confirm or deny whether or not they've authorized any sort of baiting plans.
other reactions? well, "James Ross, the legal and policy director of Human Rights Watch, said the dispersal of ammunition and explosives by US forces as a method of targeting insurgents would present obvious human rights problems.
yeah, that does seem quite problematic. would you pick up a gun you saw in the street? don't tell me that you'd call the police, because that's not really an option in a war zone. you may pick it up for your own personal safety, to get it off the street, or for whatever reason. you may pick it up to stop someone nefarious from picking it up. or, yeah, you may pick it up to use against the foreign occupiers.
if i'm in iraq, i'm not picking up anything. in fact, i'm probably staying inside. and when i go outside, i'm leaving the country.

You are a product of your enviornment, what may seem outlandish - I would certianly not pick up a gun laying around - can be normal and common place in a war zone. You don't need a gun here because your life and safety arent continually being thereatened. If people were getting killed and I was surrounded by violence, there is a good chance I would try to get some protection for myself if I wasn't able to get out.
I can't imagine living on a daily basis in such an enviornment and I would hope that the claim of planting weapons and ammunition in order to gun people down is false because that is horrific.
i totally don't blame people for taking the bait.
shoot, if i lived in a warzone adn saw a gun in the street, i'm pretty sure i'm grabbing, and running home to clean it. got to have it working well when you needs it, ya know?

that's also true. but we like to think that we're above that, right? we're above just randomly killing people in the street, yes?
i mean, is someone an insurgent for picking up a gun/munitions in the street? because it seems that this is all that they're doing. and then get sniped.
Hey, I'm not saying it's right. I'm just saying that American troops are not necessarily as righteous as we'd like them to be.
