new world record

the man on the left may now be called the fastest man on the planet. 100m, 9.76 seconds. that's crazy fast. beat the previous record by .01 seconds.

justin gatlin, congratulations. keep up the good work. usatf is proud of you.

Yeah, I heard that on the news last night and I was happy. The sucky thing is that my second thought was "I wonder if he's on some kind of performance enhancing drugs..."
I hate that that is the second thought anymore when someone does something extraordinary.

My first thought was, that is awesome! My second thought was, "Is he wearing thigh-high nylons?"

well, his trainer is the person who provided the government with the initial syringe of balco material that got a lot of the recent scandal going.

but, track & field athletes are probably the most strenuously tested athletes out there, with so many banned substances. simple crap, like cold medicine all the way up the super designer steroids.

actually, gatlin got in trouble @ the junior levels. he was on ritalin for his adhd, and it's banned. i can't remember if he served a suspension or what, but he's off the ritalin.
