why did you do it if you are not happy about it? peer pressure? do you figure that you will eventually be happy that you did it? there's someone else who twitters that you want to follow or converse with? you secretly have always wanted ot be on it? was it free to sign up? you want to see what all the fuss is about? some other reason?

those are good questions mike.

i did it mainly for pr purposes. with this account i can easily network and say, hey check out this post @ my blog or the sport blog or a new podcast is up.

i was also listening to dr. drew (on adam carolla show) talking about how much actual news is going out this way, especially in places like iran. that was significant for me, it made me continue to think about how media is changing.

i knew some people that were earlier adopters of the technology and they tried to get me on, but i don't feel like there was much peer pressure.

the main reason i haven't used this format was twofold: 1 - i like writing longer pieces. this answer is long. 140 characters is a little limiting. 2 - it has been mainly done through texting. my iphone plan has limited texting, but with all the new apps i can do it either through an app (no text) or on the internet on the phone (no text) and so i won't use up my texts.

and to speak to the pr point, it already has networked me with a bunch of people. i'm in no way bragging, but i've got 27 people already following, and i'm not sure how many of those read the blog or know me through facebook/myspace (my other big advertising methods).

Meanwhile, I don't even have internet access at my house nor do I intend to get any. You and I Ed are moving in different directions, we will have to meet somewhere in the middle, like maybe Landmark.

Don't worry Heather, I have a Twitter account that for all intents and purposes doesn't really exist.
