Wow, very interesting. The fact that he sites the success of GM companies shutting down to build war machines is intriguing. Sure, it's ideal to completely change all of the US to clean, eco-friendly transportation but I don't know if the middle class woud be able to afford a $2 increase in gas prices. Sure, that's the point, but until his new transportation systems are in place, it's punishing the pubkic without offering solutions.
I definitely think the bullet train and rapid transit ideas are brilliant and should be seriously looked at! I mean didn't the building of the first railroads in effect save Californians after the gold mining boom dried up??
