yes, you need to get on emusic. and, you need to buy the sleepover's album if you haven't already. it officially released today. or, if you were lucky enough you might have picked one up @ a cd release show.

selected + collected: emusic compilation featuring rademacher

i told you that post last night would be my last one about rademacher...until the next. well, here's the next.



rademacher has made it on to a emusic collection of bands that will own 2009. hellz yeah they will. it's called selected + collected: an emusic selects compilation.

It includes great artist art, Q&A's with everyone involved and a whole lot more. and a little more review specifically about rademacher
That piano. It comes charging out of the gate, a bold and pounding statement of intent. Fresno, CA's Rademacher are not one for the small gesture, and "If U Got Some Magic" is proud and purposeful. It pushes without detonating, getting grander with each go-round. "Some questions are tough/ Some don't got answers at all," Malcolm Sosa sings halfway through the song. Maybe so, but that doesn't mean they're not going to look.

anway, i've blogged about how emusic was a great way to get new music, especially stuff that is outside the mainstream mess. this is further proof of it.

btw, the compilation also features another band that i'm really digging right now, called she keeps bees.

3 na massa

sometimes i like to chill out with something a little different, a little strange, a bit funky. as i was combing teh internets today i came across the band 3 na massa. they're a brazilian group with a large variety of influences and sounds. i watched the video, and then checked emusic to see if they had it. yep. so, as soon as my monthly downloads reload, i'll be sitting on my back porch, chilling out with some 3 na massa.

two quick hits:
-just posted an update over @ my art blog.
-just downloaded an album by brother ali and am excited to listen to it. nick, of dice riffraff/bumbling brothers winery/fresno fuego/etc was telling me about his latest album, and then today i saw super journalist & local blogger extraordinaire mike oz mention him, so that was enough buzz for me. emusic only had one of his albums, i'm guessing his first. (and, i just found out that he's on @ least one other album i own, pigeon john and the summertime pool party).

so, i was on emusic today, looking to finish up my monthly downloads of stuff. i had picked up this album by pedro the lion, and a few tracks from rjd2. that completed the 15 i had remaining. then i saw it...

so, you can get one of the best mc's i've heard @ emusic. i bought his cd after seeing him for the second time live last night. but, i'm also a big fan of emusic. what's that, you aren't a member of emusic? well, if you'd like to be, let me know. not only can you get great deals by signing up, but we both can get a better deal if you sign up through my membership.
