sweet and tender hooligans vs. this charming band

so, if you like the smiths, and want to see a smiths cover band, seek out this charming band. i have had the pleasure if seeing both, and they are both good. I like that sweet & tender does more morrissey stuff, but musically they really can't touch this charming band.

i will also say that of the fans that travelled to fresno, the fans for this charming band were way better. they had the flowers, they knew every word and they represented both so.cal and nor.cal. sweet and tender's fans seemed to just reppin l.a. and fresno, of course. also, as I look around
the crowd at this sweet & tender show a lot of people just seem to be @ the show. they are mildly into it. the fans of this charming band were hanging on every note, every lyric.

anyway, i'm glad to have seen both because they're both enjoyable. it's just my opinion that this charming band us better. even if moz occassionally sees sweet & tender play.

No way, after seeing them both I think the Sweet and Tender Hooligans are SO much better than This Charming Band. No question. Sorry to disagree.

TCB > S&TH
As tribute bands go (I was informed that they are "tribut band" and not cover bands) I felt that TCB put on a better show. Sure the singer for TCB is a bit on the heavy side (I can respect that) but he represented The Smiths very well. The lead singer for S&TH is a great Morrissey impersonator...but the overall show was lacking a certain feel. TCB comes back to the 'no in late Feb...

as i was thinking about the show, i remember something else that bugged. now, i don't know if this was the fault of the band, the promoter or the venue, but the show was billed online (on the promoter's website) that it was $10. nothing about @the door vs presale. it was also billed that you could get tix @ a couple of local spots. neither local spots had the tickets as of a week before the show, and i don't know if they ever got them. anyway, the show cost $12. now, $12's not expensive for a good show, which this was, but it was annoying that all of a sudden we're seeing a 20% increase in price.

YES WELL TO ME THERE IS NO QUESTION, TCB HAS THE UPPER HAND ON S&TH's. TCB'S MUSIC AND VOCALS ARE WAY MORE ON TIME AND ACCURATE. JOSE THE SINGER FOR S&TH's MAY LOOK LIKE MORRISSEY, BUT THATS ABOUT IT. ORLANDO,THE SINGER FOR TCB HAS BETTER TONE AND VOCAL STYLE. IN ADDITION TCB'S GUITARIST SOUNDS MORE LIKE JOHNNY MARR OF THE SMITHS THAM MAR DOES HIMSELF. NO JOKE. BE THERE SO YOU CAN DECIDE FOR YOURSELF. SAT FEB. 28 9PM @ CLUB FRED
