a post for lefty (and all you other comic book heads too)

hey, so while i watched spider man an idea popped in my head. but, i forgot it. now, i'm watching the batman and it came to mind again.

who pays for all the damage done by these superhero fights? have they covered that in any comics, even if briefly?

Not really, but there was a series in the 80s called Damage COntrol about the crew that comes in and cleans up.

More recently, in the series called The Ultimates, which is a sort of reboot of The Avengers in a modern setting with revised takes on the characters, they began the series with a Hulk rampage through Manhattan and as I recall they did dwell on the actual human cost in this. I believe this was prompted by 9/11, causing the author to note that buildings get knocked down all the time in comics without much thought.
