okay, you're not really dead, but don't count on me ever buying another one of your albums. this is what put the final nail in your cofffin.

So he has made/is making family movies instead of rapping about killing people, being a hood etc. True this is a 180 but he has kids now and I think it is cool that he doesn't have to pretend to be or actually be all hard core and violent and is setting a better example for them. Ahh, personal growth.

Yeah, I remember you harping on him for this when last we flossed. I don't see the problem. Maybe his street cred isn't what it used to be, but the man as a person isn't who he used to be.

I have received a few knocks for changing my opinions on things, but as a person I would rather change, mature, and improve than stay always the same and stagnate.

You have to allow for growth in other people, especially your heroes.

Although... You've got to laugh if you ever hear him say "Keep it gangsta" again.

It's just funny that the movie industry always wants to pair kids with the most unlikely people (Richard Pryor, Tripple XXX, Hulk Hogan). I mean in real like would you ever trust your kids with the 36 Mofia? Anyway at least Dr. Cox's is in the movie

i don't really have a problem with him making kids movies. i have a problem with him making bad kids movies.

hey, i enjoyed the first barbershop. i saw parts of the 2nd one. shoot, that xxx:state of the union was what it was billed as.

i'm just hoping that if he tries to make any more music he doesn't represent like he still lives in the hood. shoot, i remember on one of iceT's (not ice cube) first albums he rapped about how the goal was to get out of the hood, the life. i don't know if he's tried to keep up with that ideal. now, ice cube, on the other hand, has embraced a bit of a player philosophy, as well as maintaining the gangster stuff. i just don't see how he can keep it up on future albums if this is the counter product being released (and he allegedly does have another album in the works)

ed (posting from a hotel in la. track meets. jay, we're at pomona pitzer this week)

Hey, but you know what Dr. Dre said "all you little gangsta's run around town, talkin' about guns, like I ain't got none. What you think I sold them all?"

Point being I don't care what he does I'm still scared of Ice Cube.
