cold november rain

i am an everyday rider. that is, i pretty much ride my motorcycle every day. and, i've been doing this for the last few years. warm, hot, cold, foggy, rain, whatever, i'm riding. when it gets colder, i put the windshield on the bike to cut the airflow a bit. i need to do this soon as it is crazy chilly in the morning and less wind on the body would help. when it rains, i have some rain pants that go over my regular pants, and a raincoat that goes over my jacket and they keep me nice and dry.

my rain gear was getting a little tattered, so yesterday i went and got some new duds over @ cycle gear.

anyway, i purchased these items yesterday, and then last night i saw on the news that there was a chance of rain today. how fortuitous! but, angelo stalis seemed to downplay the storm a bit and it seemed, or at least i understood, that the storm would hold off until later in the day. so, i decided i probably would not need to wear the rain gear today. this morning, i didn't wear it.

so, of course, when i was going to leave work, it was raining. fortunately, it was just spitting a bit and not pouring. i made it home rather dry. this time.

rain on a sunny day

i heard the rain this afternoon and noticed that it was sunny outside as well. it looked pretty cool and so i thought i'd shoot some video of it to share. enjoy.

it's late, but fresno is giving me something beautiful to share. i'm sitting on my back porch, quietly listening to beautiful hip hop by ibid (from merced) and the rain on my metal porch roof. simply lovely.

no, not chocolate rain. fresno has been under the clouds these last few days and they have delivered. today, we got over 1" of rain, which i hear is some sort of record.

it made for a nice day. i could hear the rain falling outside and hitting the roof, could hear wet tires on the road, and occasionally looked out to see the water. i chilled out inside most of the day, but then i decided t head out and go for a bike ride. hadn't been on the bicycle for quite some time, so it was fun to ride again, although i had to be quite cautious due to the slick conditions. and, my back brakes were really off. somehow, they had come to need a real adjustment, and i didn't realize this until after i had started riding. i still had breaks, but had to squeeze the brake handle quite a while before it finally caught. when i got home i adjusted to a better spot.

the rain supposed to let up by tomorrow morning, which is good because i've got to go into work in the morning. if it's raining, this can mean wet motorcyclist.
