post art hop show featuring rademacher, the sleepover disaster and death to anders

i'm going to borrow a friend's words to promote the show right now:
"it's not really a post-art hop show without rademacher now is it? the originators and curators of this first thursday phenomenon are at it again, this time with guests (the sleepover disaster (devil in the woods records) and l.a. band to watch death to anders, who have - since their last visit to fresno - released a new record and become big players in the l.a. indie rock scene. good music and good friends always make the post-arthop show the best thing to happen to thursdays since, um, 'must-see tv.' come be a part of it."

You have done 3 posts on this show now so it better be good! Vince seemed confident that it would be, so as long as there are no pyrotechnics and I have an escape route in mine in case of fire, it should be a good time.

Heheh, seriously Kasey, how do you get into a motor vehicle without being paralyzed by fear.

You can't criticize me for my irrational dislike of mushrooms anymore. =P

I am not at all a paranoid person(if you can name something else I am paranoid about, by all means let me know though) but I have always disliked that venue for various reasons, only one of which is it doesnt seem like a place that is so much up to code when it comes to safety.

In 2003 there was that night club fire in Rhode Island that killed 100 people who were unable to get out of the club and died incredibly horrible deaths and it really disturbed me. I still clearly remember seeing the video of the people smashed in the door as the place was burning and trying to escape but not being able to and those images just stayed with me.

Obviously the likihood of that happening is not very high, otherwise I wouldnt step foot in that place, but lets be honest the probability of people getting out of there safely if something were to happen is not that great. That club in Rhode Island had 4 exits and it didnt make a difference, people panic and freak out and dont care that they are trampling other people because they are trying to save their own lives.

But I am also claustrophobic when it comes to being around people in tight places. I have had panic attacks in situations where I am standing and surrounded by people and cant get space (ask me about my freak out in Rome or at the mall with Barney) so if you combine those two fears it just doesnt make me a fan of going there.

It may not be completely rational but there is a reason for it. And its not like I lock myself in my apartment fearing for my safety, hell I am still going so I cant be paralyzed with fear, I would just perfer to be sitting and somewhat near the door so I can get fresh air and have an escape route:)

Phew, long explanation for a half joking comment but I felt the need to explain myself:)

I totally understand, but Tokyo Garden neither books shows that use pyrotechnics, nor does it have sound-proofing material on the wall with a high flash point that burns extremely fast.

The claustrophobia, I won't criticize that.

Whoops, I meant low flash point.

True but pyrotechnics and sound proofing material are also not the only cause of fires but I do recognize the reason that fire in partiuclar was so bad and happened so quickly was because of that.

Thats just another reason I like Landmark, we sit outside and even if we were inside we have lots of escape routes available;)

But just think if you died at Toyko you would die with all your friends and leave a beautiful corpse. How awesome is that! Plus there would be some memorial and s*** with you name on it and you would come back to life as a peacock or a godzilla
