oh you tokers

you know, i am positive that i have heard several potheads explain to me how weed was less dangerous than tobacco. it seems that common sense is losing out to science, once again. lung problems and schizophrenia, you guys get it all!

maybe if you're lucky, you can take part in some american version of this study. lord knows we need people to sacrifice for science.

Ahh... but how often do you hear non-potheads extol the virtues of weed? =) I actually got on a kick a year or two ago where I did a fair bit of research on pot, and hemp in general. My general conclusion, FWIW, was that whatever negative affects marijuana may have are far outweighed by the numerous virtues the plant has in medicine, industry & recreation. One study (or even 2 or 3) does not make a fact, on either side of the issue. If you ever watch Penn & Teller's Bullshit, they've got an episode on the drug war that has quite a bit of good info on marijuana in particular. Surprisingly, they're not potheads either.

I just watched a show on The History Channel about the history of marijuana and other narcotics and it was like they were trying to make a case for it being bad for you but when you placed that argument next to an argument as to why meth and heroin are bad, it just lost steam. I think you also meant that marijuana was less dangerous than tobacco, but maybe I am just being schizo.

Meh, if you live in the central valley, you're probably gonna end up with lung problems anyway. That's what I always say.

My extensive observations show, burning stuff and inhaling the resulting particulate-laden smoke is probably bad for your lungs.

Now where's my fucking Macarthur genius grant?

see, you just cut through the smoke with that observation. we need more common sense thinkers like you in government. perhaps you should skip grad school. if you move to the central valley, i help run your campaign for congress. i no we could gather at least 5 votes.
